Rachel Debono Lombardo graduated from the University of Malta with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (Hons) in 2011. She has gained several years of experience in education across the lifespan.

After University, Rachel worked as an educator with adults with a disability at a day care centre for adults with a disability. During this time, she also worked with young children with diverse needs where she planned and executed programmes to develop the children’s communication, socialisation, self-help skills and academic skills in their own homes.

Rachel worked in a school as a Literacy Support Teacher for 10 years. There she developed and delivered literacy programmes for young people with learning difficulties, literacy difficulties, developmental difficulties, ADHD, SEBD, and autism. In 2015 she graduated from the University of Sheffield with an MSc. In Language and Communication Impairment in Children with a specialization in literacy and in 2019 obtained ADOS accreditation. Upon her graduation from her Masters, Rachel co-founded a literacy intervention programme, together with an Educational Psychologist, where she assessed, developed and delivered the programme to young children in groups and on an individual basis.

Rachel is currently working as a Psychology Assistant with the Psychology and CBT Clinic and as a Childcare Centre Manager where she develops, implements and manages a child development programme and efficient staff practices based on evidence. She is also currently following a Masters degree in Gestalt Psychotherapy and is also the President of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Malta.
